Settings
Your server, your preferences. Keep everything ready for movie night.
Browse to your own movie or TV folders below, add them, then save settings. Photos are optional. Local playback works without enabling network access.
Appearance
Choose a look for this browser. Your choice is saved automatically. TV apps keep their own appearance setting.
A seven-second surprise every 2–4 minutes while you browse. Hidden during movies, Photo Reel and fullscreen.
Playback
Applies to new playback sessions on this server, including shuffle. Uses stereo audio; compatible video can pass through unchanged when playing from the beginning. Resuming or seeking may use compatibility playback and extra processing. Your original files are never modified. Volume adjustment is gradual, especially after a silent opening.
Automatic uses the server’s compatible processing path. CPU only disables GPU encoding and GPU tone mapping. NVIDIA preference can fall back to CPU; Intel and AMD hardware encoding are not implemented. Applies to new playback and new jobs, not anything already playing.
Link a separate photos folder. Subfolders become albums.
JesterMedia scans only the game folders you select. Add your own NES, SNES, or Genesis ROM folders, then save settings.
New media preparation
Save settings to enable this. Existing titles form the starting point; they are not bulk-converted or backfilled. New work waits for files to settle and gives playback priority. Originals, alternate audio, and custom artwork stay intact. Online artwork uses your saved TMDB settings; uncertain matches may still need review.
For consistent volume, enable Sound Check in Playback settings. Volume leveling happens while playing, without rewriting your files. Subtitle preparation preserves the source timing; it cannot automatically repair every incorrectly timed source track.
Open Library settings to check background preparation.
Home-network players need this PC to keep the same IPv4 address. JesterMedia checks your settings; it never changes host networking.
Set a static address in Windows
Open Windows Settings → Network & internet → your Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection → IP assignment → Edit → Manual → IPv4. Use an available address, subnet, gateway, and DNS supplied by your router or network administrator. Incorrect values can disconnect this PC.
A router DHCP reservation alone does not pass this check: Windows must use a manual static IPv4 address on an active Ethernet or Wi-Fi adapter. Then enter that address here, check it, and save settings.
Linux preview: set a static address with NetworkManager
Use your distribution's Network settings to set IPv4 to Manual on the server's physical Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection. Use an available private address, prefix, gateway, and DNS supplied by your router or network administrator. Incorrect values can disconnect the server.
JesterMedia checks NetworkManager through nmcli against the active adapter and actual assigned address. DHCP reservations, virtual adapters, containers, and networkd-only setups cannot pass this preview check. Loopback access remains available. After saving a verified LAN address, restart the Linux process or user service.
Check the address before enabling home-network devices.
Users & access
Manage family logins here on the server PC. A login uses one household profile for its viewing progress and personal lists. It never grants server administration or permission to delete original media.
Changing permissions or the assigned profile signs out existing sessions.
Share the create-account link with family. Website registrations wait for your approval before they can access media or app downloads. They can sign in to check their approval status. Public access also needs your configured connection to be online.
Set up your own HTTPS reverse proxy or tunnel to this server’s remote listener on port 18097, then enter its address here. No gateway is configured automatically.
Changing the gateway address signs out existing remote sessions.

Manage users & reset passwords
Create a family account
Create an already-approved login yourself. Choose an existing profile, or add one in . Creating an account does not enable remote access.
New accounts start as family members. After creating one, you can grant the Account administrator role on its account card above.
Signed-in devices
Sign out a device to require its user to log in again. Block an account above to stop that person from signing back in.
No active remote sign-ins.
Saved Apple catalog (advanced)
Processed on this PC. Rentals and refunded or uncertain records are excluded. No Apple password, payment details, or raw archive is saved in your catalog.
Or add movie titles manually, one per line: Title | Year.
Update checks do not send your library, media folders, profiles, watch history, or account credentials. The update host receives normal connection information, including your IP address.
Ready for movie night?
Check your setup and understand playback issues. Nothing changes automatically.
Open these checks on the server computer. Checks do not change your library or playback settings.
Test an encoder
A short synthetic video checks whether encoding actually works. This uses CPU/GPU briefly, never opens your media, and cannot certify 4K capacity. Stop playback and conversions first.
Keep your library setup safe
Back up profiles, watched progress, playlists, shuffle selections, preferences, and poster corrections. Your movie, episode, and photo files are not copied.
Backups are not encrypted and contain private library information and folder paths. Keep them on protected storage. Credentials, remote account/device access, and signing keys are excluded; a backup is not a public source package. Pause scans and library edits before exporting for the most consistent snapshot.
Restore from a backup
Preview the archive first. Restoring replaces the included library state and requires a server restart. Current network and access-security settings stay on this server. A recovery copy is kept before changes.
No backup has been restored.
