FROM DOWNLOAD TO MOVIE NIGHT
One setup. Your whole living room.
Install your home server, put JesterMedia on your TV, or work through both. The server and TV packages are included in this download.
YOUR LIBRARY STARTS HERE
Install JesterMedia Server
Includes the Windows x64 server installer, version 0.3.35. Its own wizard handles installation.
Linux installs server 0.3.25-preview.1 into a new per-user folder and refuses to overwrite it. FFmpeg and FFprobe must be installed separately. Start Linux server uses a separate data folder; it does not change existing services or enable automatic startup. Existing servers on ports 8096 or 18097 block startup.
After the installer finishes
- Open JesterMedia Server and choose your movie and TV folders.
- In Settings → Network & access, complete the fixed-IP check and enable home-network access.
- Keep the firewall on. Allow the server on your trusted private network.
- Write down the server address shown there, including the port (normally 8096). You will enter it inside the TV app.

Find your TV
Keep the TV and this PC on the same trusted network. Enter the TV’s address—not the server address. Only that address is checked; this wizard does not scan your network.
No TV selected.
Please send a message to james@thejesterwins.com with your TV brand, exact model, and software/Tizen version. Please leave out passwords and signing certificates.
Before installing on Roku
Enable developer mode on the TV, accept Roku’s agreement yourself, and set its installer password. From Home: Home × 3, Up × 2, Right, Left, Right, Left, Right.
Installing replaces any existing sideloaded developer app. Only one can be installed at a time.
Before installing on Samsung
- Install Tizen Studio, the Samsung TV extension, and Samsung Certificate Extension.
- Enable Developer Mode on the TV. Set Host PC IP to this installation PC’s address, then restart the TV.
- Create your own Samsung TV certificate profile with the TV’s DUID included. Keep the same author certificate for future updates. If required, use Device Manager’s “Permit to install applications”.
- Select the SDK folder here (Windows or Linux), then detect the TV again.
No SDK selected.
This is not your Roku account password. It is used only for this installation and is not saved.
Use the profile name, not your certificate password. Your certificate stays in your local SDK.
An exact target match selects a package; it is not a claim that every model or video format has been tested. Unknown versions are blocked in this preview.
After installation
Open JesterMedia on the TV and enter the server’s network address and port. Choose a profile and theme, then test a short video for picture, sound, and remote navigation. The Roku app currently requires a private IPv4 server address.
