NES shell fit testing: from the printer to the console
The full-size NES fit frame is printed. Lip fit and post height are confirmed, with centering still being refined.
The custom NES replacement-shell project has moved from a partial orange fitting to a full-size printed test frame around the original console hardware. The earlier photos show the cartridge, metal shield, and mounting points used to check the fit.
The test-frame lip fits well, and the post height is now confirmed. Perimeter and standoff centering still need adjustment. The next diagnostic frame is being prepared with individually adjustable measurement posts to help locate those offsets.
This is a fitting fixture, not the finished decorative NES top. The completed shell still needs its own physical checks. The replacement connector and straight-in cartridge tray are a related project whose mounting and clearance checks are also still in progress.
