NES mod: the full-length graded tray is printing.
The tray is printing now with a gradual 1.5 mm drop along the full cartridge path. The goal is smoother seating and better playability in my NES mod.
The next tray for my NES mod is printing now. This version carries the 1.5 mm grade along the entire cartridge path, giving the cartridge a gradual approach to the connector instead of introducing the drop partway through.
The goal is to help the cartridge seat smoothly and consistently so the mod works well when it’s time to actually play. The tray needs to do more than fit inside the build: it needs to support a reliable connection and a usable console.
Once the print is finished, I’ll check the physical fit, cartridge seating, and how it performs in the mod. Printing is underway; the playability results still need that hands-on test.
